Furniture quality control is not one final inspection step. It begins with material preparation and continues through machining, construction, sanding, finishing and packing.
Material preparation
Timber condition and moisture are important before furniture construction begins. Furnliv’s workshop content states that timber is seasoned and dried to around 8–12% moisture.
Dimensions and construction
Dimensions and joinery need to match the approved design or project specification. Structural details vary by product and intended use.
Sanding and finish
Surface preparation affects the final appearance and feel of the furniture. Furnliv uses progressive sanding before finishing.
Natural wood variation
Grain, tone and figure vary naturally. Quality control should not be confused with forcing natural timber to look visually identical board to board.
Final checks and packing
Furniture is checked before packing and dispatch, with packing requirements varying by product and destination.
